Folkston-Ira "Wayne" Lee, 69 of Folkston, passed away early Friday morning (November 22, 2013) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, following an extended illness. Born in Hoboken, GA. His parents were Henry George and Thelma Lane Lee. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mattie Evon Woodard, and Margaret Ann Thrift. Mr. Lee was a member of High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church, he worked many years at International Paper in Folkston. He also worked in Law Enforcement and was a chief deputy with The Charlton County Sheriffs Department, he served as The State Revenue Agent and had also worked in the Fraud Intelligence for The Department of revenue, Wayne also enjoyed fishing and gardening. Survivors include two sons, William "Bill" Henry Lee, of Kingsland, and Anthony "Andy" Wayne Lee, of Folkston; a daughter, Sherri Lee Lewis, of Hoboken; four grandchildren, Kaylea Samantha Lee, Taylor Brooke Lee, Anthony Wade Lewis, Emily Kristean Lewis; 1 great grandchild, Christopher Zander Leung; five brothers and sisters-in-law, John Billy Lee (Patsy), of Hoboken, Larry R. Lee (Glenda), of Blackshear, Harry A. Lee (Vanessa), of Hoboken, Henry George Lee, Jr., of Thomasville, and Terry Michael Lee (Montine), of Albany; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley Nell Lee Giddens, of Millwood, and Thelma Shirlene Lee Banks (Jerry), of Jesup. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Saturday evening (November 23, 2013) at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday afternoon (November 24, 2013) at 2PM at High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Freddie Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the High Bluff Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sidney Lee, Dane Phelps, Roger Crews, Stanley Wildes, Hamp Wildes, and Brent Wildes. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
