Raybon-Mrs. Iris Myrtle Morgan Lake, 84, of the Raybon Community died late Saturday evening (May 26, 2012) in the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after an extended illness. Born in Brantley County she was a life time resident of the Raybon Community and the daughter of Ira Milton and Nancy Morgan Morgan. Preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Tori Lake, a brother, Conway Morgan, 2-sisters, Hazel Wilson and Mavis Newbern, and a very special friend, Mr. Wilmer "Tom" Turner. Mrs. Iris was a member of The Raybon Advent Christian Church, and had worked as a Librarian for the Brantley County Library for many years before retiring. She also loved reading, cooking and spending time with her family. Survived by her daughter, Annette Lake, of Raybon, a son, Merrill Lake, of Hortense, 2-grandchildren and their spouse, Tracie Miller and Chris, of Hortense, Chris Crews and Lisa, of Nahunta, 2-Great-grandchildren, Preston Miller and Kensley Crews, also several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Tuesday evening starting at 6:00 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home, in Nahunta. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday (May 30, 2012) from the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Hilton Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at The Rob Lewis Cemetery in Raybon. Pallbearers will be Layton Johns, Kevin Allen, Chris and Preston Miller, Earl Roberson and Barney King. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
