Hortense- Ivy “George” Daniels, 72, of Hortense died early Wednesday morning (November 25, 2015) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness. Born in Ripley, TN his parents were Freddy George and Mary Frances Hillard Daniels. He is also preceded in death by a son, Freddy O’Neal Daniels; and a sister, Rose Claire Quick. George served in the United States Army and was a retired machine mechanic for Rich Sea Pak Corp. He also loved being with his grandchildren and enjoyed sitting on the back porch and being outdoors. Survivors include his wife of 49yrs, Geraldine Callaway Daniels of Hortense; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina Marie & John Geiger of Raybon; 7 grandchildren, Kayla Brooke Parse, Chelsie Patten, Taylor Patten, Clifford Patten,Jr., Caroline Patten, Grant Geiger, and Evan Geiger; 2 great grandchildren, Lillie Parse and Allie Parse; a brother, Bobby Wayne Glover of Brunswick; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary & Bob Beach and Frieda Ann Glover all of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A visitation will be held Thursday evening (December 3, 2015) from 6pm-8pm at Frye Funeral Home. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
