Jack Edward Hill

Hortense – Jack Edward Hill, 46, of Hortense passed away Tuesday evening (October 26, 2021) at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness.
Born in Waynesville, GA his parent are Maybelle Rooks Hill and the late Willie R. Hill, Sr.
Jack worked for Woodard’s Construction for 16years as a heavy equipment operator. He loved running heavy equipment and was good at it. Jack was a blast to be around and was the life of the party. He loved being in the river and riding his buggy. His boys were his life and he fought long and hard to come home to them. That was the last word’s out of his mouth, “Do what you get to do to get me home to my boys.” Not Goodbye, see you later!
Survivors include his fiancé, Tracy Thomas of Hortense; 10 children, Zack Turner (Jensen), William Slaughter, James Slaughter, Matthew Slaughter, Heather Slaughter, Austin Warner (Angel), Adrianna Warner (Bubba), Jase Sims, Zayden Hill, and Madison Slaughter; several grandchildren; his mother, Maybelle Rooks Hill of Waynesville; 6 siblings, Jennifer Smith, Willie Hill, Timmy Hill, James Hill, Clayton Hill and Mary Rooks; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service on Saturday (October 30, 2021) starting at 2:30pm at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon (October 30, 2021) at 3PM at Mt Olive Cemetery with Pastor Shawn Knudson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Thomas, Joey Thomas, Gary Navarro, Adam Corry, Dakota Owens, Darrell Nissen, Shade Rooks and Frank Cribbs.
Due to COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
