Jackie Edward Booth, Sr.

Hoboken – Mr. Jackie “Pa Jack” Edward Booth, Sr., 84, of Hoboken passed away Tuesday morning (February 9, 2021) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross after a brief illness.

Born in Waycross, GA his parents were Abe B. Booth and Luna Gertrude Saterfield. He is also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Lynde Booth; 2 sisters, Gertrude Cribb and Merle Proctor; and 3 brothers, Bud Cribb, Pete Booth, and Gene “Bo” Cribb.

Mr. Jack was retired from CSX Railroad as a pipefitter and served in the United States Army. He attended High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed doing yardwork, mowing his grass, and gardening. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and an overall great family man.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Lee Booth of Hoboken; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie & Dana Booth of Gray, Stephen Booth of Hoboken and Gregory & Lynn Booth of Macon; 3 grandchildren, Brett Mitchell of Macon, and Ashlee Booth and Carlee Booth both of Gray; a special great niece, Loren Chancey of Hoboken; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon (February 13, 2021) at 3pm at High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Daniel Drawdy, Elder Freddie Thomas, and Elder Eddie Lee officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service Saturday starting a t 2:30PM at the church.

Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Greg Lee, Sidney Lee, Roger Crews, Phillip Chancey, Cary Lee, and Harold Driggers.

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Southeastern Cancer Unit, P.O. Box 91 Hoboken, GA 31542.
