Hortense- Jack "Jay" Henry Hodge, II, 34 of Hortense died suddenly Thursday night (February 20, 2014) after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Brunswick, GA his parents are Jack Henry Hodge, Sr. of Waynesville and Susan Elaine Jacobs Hodge of Brunswick. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Kate of Hodge and his maternal grandfather, Aaron Wayne Jacobs. Jay was a heavy equipment operator and loved drag racing, repairing old cars, fishing and his family. Survivors include his wife, April Hodge of Brunswick; 2 sons, Ray Lee Hodge and John Andrew "Drew" Hodge both of Brunswick; 2 daughters, Taylor Inell Hodge and Lena Nickole Hodge both of Brunswick; father and stepmother, Jack Henry & Robin Hodge, Sr. of Waynesville; mother, Susan Elaine Hodge(Earl) of Brunswick; brother, Charles Wesley Hodge(Millie) of Hortense; stepbrother, Paul & Lynn Hars of Deberry, FL; stepsister, Penny King(Mike) of Waynesville; maternal grandmother, Jean "Ma" Little (Glenn)of Waynesville; father-in-law, Glenn Ward of Hortense; adopted brother, Timmy Clark of Hortense; uncle and aunt, David Wayne & Liz Jacobs of Hortense; special cousin, Wesley Andrew Jacobs of Hortense; and also several other aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday afternoon (February 24, 2014) starting at 1PM at the Little Memorial Cemetery. A graveside service will be held Monday afternoon (February 24, 2014) at 2PM at Little Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Emory Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jack Henry Hodge, Sr., Charles Hodge, Timmy Clark, James Slaughter, Matt "Fat Cat" Slaughter, Brian Harrison, Kevin McManus, and Kevin Lynn.
