James Benton Wilson

James Benton Wilson, 63, of Brunswick died Thursday afternoon (July 22, 2010) at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Nahunta, GA his parents were Norman Issac and Josie Mae Lewis Wilson, Sr. He is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Evelyn Shuman and Dorothy Wilson; and 2 brothers, Bobby Wilson and Jerry Wilson. James was a tree surgeon for Wilson Tree Service and was of the Baptist faith. He was a simple man who loved gardening, fishing writing songs and was a comedian. Survivors include 5 children and their spouses, Dolores Williams of Woodbine, Deeanna Wilson & Brandon Ness of Brunswick, Gwendolyn Wilson, Josie Dukes and Tara Wilson all of St. Simons; 8 grandchildren, Vincent, Holden & Sydney Clark all of Brunswick, Cassie Elliot, Ashley Centeno, Joseph Dukes, Tierra Allen and Cameron Stout all of St. Simons; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby & Benny Thomas of Nahunta, Marie & Gerald Spatlin of Alabama and Diane & Barry Ivey of South Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Junior & Freida Wilson of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Monday evening (July 26, 2010) starting at 6:30PM at Frye Funeral Home,Nahunta. A memorial service will be held Monday evening (July 26, 2010) at 7:00PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangement are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
