Hortense - Mr. James Claude Dubose, Jr., 68, of Hortense died Friday evening (April 18, 2014) at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick after a brief illness. Born in Blackshear, GA his parents were James Claude Sr. and Katie May Johns Dubose. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Lawana Jean Crosby Dubose; and a sister, Carrie Mae Miller. James was a maintenance technician for the Glynn Co. Airport and of the Baptist faith. He also loved hunting and fishing. Survivors include his 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Owen James & Jennifer Dubose of Waynesville and William Daniel "Porky" & Kelly Dubose of Kingsland; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette & Brian Simpson of Atlanta and Ellissia "Lisa" & Sammy Harrison of Brunswick; 8 grandchildren, Austin Dubose and Olivia Dubose both of Waynesville, Ashley Harrison of Brunswick, Lori Dubose and Garrett Dubose both of Waynesville, Katelyn Malcolm (Corry) of Atlanta, and Brian Simpson, Jr.( Heather) of Greensboro, NC; 3 great grandchildren, Emma Harrison of Brunswick, Alyssa Malcolm and Hailey Malcolm both of Atlanta; a very special girlfriend, Emma "Tinker" Boley, of Waynesville; a brother, Harry Dubose of Hoboken; a sister and brother-in-law, Claudie & Thomas Lanier of Hickox; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Monday evening (April 21, 2014) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (April 22, 2014) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edward Ammons, Richie Dubberly, Matt Dixon, Jamie Warner, Jeremiah Gibson and Bo Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Howe, Buddy Howe and Matthew Howe.
