James Head

Mr. James Franklin "Frank" Head,86,of Waverly died Monday morning (Mar. 1, 2010) at the Hospice of The Golden Isles in Brunswick after a long illness. Born in Waverly he was the son of Charles Edward and Margaret Christine Smith Head. He was also preceded in death by several Brothers and Sisters. Mr. Frank retired from Babcock and Wilcox in Brunswick where he worked as a Boilermaker. He attended the Way of The Cross Church in Brunswick but still held his membership in The Ella Park Baptist Church in Waverly. He enjoyed gardening and taken care of animals and became an avid fisherman after retiring. He also enjoyed reading, telling stories, which he was very good at and could really hold your attention. Survived by his loving wife and best friend for the past 57 years, Faye Daniels Head, of Waverly, 3-daughters and sons-in-law, and 3-sons and daughters-in-law, Kathy and Bill Brant, of Woodbine, Wetzel and Patricia Head, of Waynesville, Melissa and Calvin Blount, Emmett and Tammy Head , all of Waverly, Emily Drury and Jim Morgan, of White Oak and Chad and Sheila Head, of Waverly, a very special Brother, Elmer "Gopher" Smith, of Jacksonville, Fl., 2-Special Nieces, Judy Aspinwall, of Jesup and Loretta Bystrak, of Surrency, 14-Grandchildren, 11-Great-Grandchildren and also several Nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (Mar. 2, 2010) at the Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services for Mr. Head will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. from the Way of The Cross Baptist Church in Brunswick, with Rev. Joey Chancey, Pastor Daniel Field and Rev. Doug Goode officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the Horsestamp Cemetery in Waverly. Pallbearers are Kevin and Philipp Head, Edward Carter, Bill and Kathy Brant, Kalem Head and John Keene. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Wetzel Head, Roy Drury, Corky Rozier, Ron Lewis, Ted and Jana Wise, James Drury, Lonnie Brockington , Paul Drury, Donnie Buice, Bobby Thomas, Clifton Worth, Bill Cantrell and Burnice Aspinwall.
