James Iler, 74 of Nahunta, passed away early Wednesday morning (September 12, 2018) at Hospice of the Golden Isles, in Brunswick, following an extended illness.
Born in Gainesville, GA., his parents were Jesse James Iler and Eunice DeLong. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Shelly Westbrook, Raquael Iler; brother, Leon Iler; and a sister.
James was a member of Whosoever Baptist Church. He worked many years as a truckdriver and also served in the United States Marines. He enjoyed watching YouTube, trains, old cars, fishing, and anything outdoors.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Tracy Iler (Brenda), of Brewton, AL., Tammy Iler Douglas (Lonnie), of Nahunta, Danyale Iler Wyrick (John), of Nahunta; 4 grandchildren, Tracy Iler, Jr., Margaret Middleton (Eddie), Shane Douglas (Kacee), Destiny Wyrick; 5 step grandchildren, Lonnie Douglas, Shawn Douglas, and Shalonda Embry; 5 great grandchildren, Macee, Ella, and Paislee Middleton, Easton and Weston Douglas; 8 step great grandchildren, Landon, Laison, and Abel Douglas, Loretta and Jake Douglas, Kayla, Logan, Bailey Embry, Jonathan Douglas, and Jayden Douglas; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Iler (Marie), of Gainesville, GA; and a sister, Cathy Gilstrap. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
No services will be held at this time.
