James Leroy Straight

James Leroy Straight, 65 of Hortense, passed away Wednesday (September 22, 2021) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick following an extended illness.
Born in Martinsville, West Virginia., his parents were Paul Francis Straight and Loretta Walker Straight. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pearline Turner Straight.
James served in the United States Marines and worked as a Truck Driver for the Hub Group. He enjoyed fishing, building things, working on projects and spending time with grandchildren.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Angie Timberlake (Shane), of Claxton, Amy James (D.J.), also of Claxton, Jamie Galipo, of Brunswick, John Watson (Myra), Gerald Robinson (Mary), Johnny Robinson, Justin Robinson (Kayla), Kory Marsh, all of Hortense, and Tony Robinson, of Texas; 14 grandchildren, Kayla (Josh), Matthew (Michalia), Lil John, Ashley, Johnny Lee, Lil Bit, Blake, Joel, Ethan, Destiny, Kiya, William, Steven, and Bobby; 12 great grandchildren, Cody, Tabitha, Taylor, A.J., Levi, Mason, Patty, Ari, Aiden, Blake, Cameron, and Kaiden; 2 brothers, Gale Straight and Donald Straight; 3 sisters, Kathy Smith, Mary Dennis, and Melanie Ray. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Graveside Service will be held Sunday morning (September 26, 2021) at 10 AM at Mama’s Garden Cemetery; 182 Atkinson Rd. Hortense; GA 31543 with Bro. Mike Forman officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service, at the cemetery.
Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask, are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
