James Michael Crews, 54 of Waycross died suddenly Wednesday evening (February 3, 2010) at his residence. Born in Folkston, GA his parents are Juanita Vinson Crews and the late Jesse Andrews Crews, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Crews Hickox. He was a truck driver and served in the U.S. Army. Also Michael attended the First Baptist Church in Folkston, was a member of the American Vets and loved fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Mikey & Janice Crews of Waynesville, J.O. & Amanda Johnson and Johnny & Christy Johnson of Waycross; 10 grandchildren, Makayla Crews, Christian Crews, Melessa Crews, Cheyanne Johnson, Heaven Johnson, Destiny Johnson, Jaden Johnson, John Johnson, Jamielee Johnson and Jolie Johnson; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse & Joan Crews, Jr. of St. George, GA and Wallace & Phyllis Crews of Citronelle, AL; his mother, Juanita V. Crews of Waynesville; a life long companion, Billie Jo Crews of Waycross; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Saturday evening (February 6, 2010) from 6PM to 8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (February 7, 2010) starting at 2PM at Atkinson Baptist Church with Rev. Gene McCullough, Rev. Randy Jacoby and Rev. Claud Goble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.O. Johnson, Bo Johns, D.J. Johns, Jok Johns, Randy Kirkland and Joe Shiver.
