James R. Harrell, Sr.

James Reginald "Sonny" Harrell, Sr., 76, of Appling, GA died Wednesday night (November 4, 2009) at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation in Thomson, GA. Born in Patterson, GA his parents were Morris Clinch and Rosa Cleo Barnard Harrell. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Edward Harrell and a sister, Ann Quintana. He served our country in the National Guard and was a police officer for Chatham County and Savannah. Mr. Harrell also retired as project manager for Daniel's Construction and loved fishing and hunting. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James R. & Marsha Harrell, Jr. of Guyton, GA and Richard K. & Marie Harrell of Appling, GA; 5 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Homer B. "Catfish" Harrell of White Oak, GA; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A graveside service will be held Saturday morning (November 7, 2009) at 11:00AM at Harrell Cemetery in Camden Co.
