Janice Batten O'Neal, 55 of Hoboken, died suddenly Saturday afternoon (March 14, 2009) at Satilla Regional Medical Center. Born in Pierce Co, GA, her parents were John Henry and Ona Mae Jacobs Batten. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Misty O'Neal; a sister, Alvie Chesser; two brother-in-laws, James O'Neal and Donnie Hugh Smith; and a niece, Carmen O'Neal. She was a homemaker and attended The Church of God of Hoboken. She is survived by her husband, Jack F. O'Neal of Hoboken; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Brandi O'Neal of Hoboken; a daughter and son-in-law, Kiesha and Tracy Thomas of Nahunta; five grandchildren, Taylor, Spencer and Benjamin O'Neal all of Hoboken and Hayle Carter and Ally Thomas of Nahunta; four sister and their spouses, Ruby Lee and Charles Waldron, Faye and Lancewell O'Neal, Edith Smith and Patsy and Billy Lee all of Hoboken; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Chesser of Hoboken; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Monday evening (March 16, 2009) from 6-9 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home (formerly Chambless-Frye), Nahunta, GA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon (March 17, 2009) at 2:00 P.M. from Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Knox Cemetery, Lulaton, GA Pallbearers will be Jason Lee, Billy Lee, Chuck Waldron, Tony Drury, Danny Moore, and Tony O'Neal.
