Hoboken – Janice Crews Shuman, 73, of Hoboken passed away Thursday afternoon (July 9, 2020) at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Hoboken, GA her parents were Charlie Eldon Crews and Ollie Mae Griffin Crews.

Janice was a homemaker and a lifetime member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian who loved her church and served on the church’s social committee, the outreach program and helped with anything the church needed.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ray Shuman of Hoboken; son and daughter-in-law, Chris & Rizalyn of Hoboken; daughter and son-in-law, Constance & John Sartain of Waycross; 4 grandchildren, Lanie & Justine Ennis, Rachel & Tony Lang, Christopher Michael & Emberlee Shuman and Matthew Ray Shuman; 5 great grandchildren, Prigger, Tucker, Thatcher, Teller & Trip Ennis; 5 brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry & Evelyn Crews of Hickox, Terry & Cindy Crews, Danny & Barbara Crews, Tommy & Diane Crews and Dennis & Annette Crews all of Hoboken; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine & Charles Heard, Katherine Altman, Ruthie Lee and Marilyn & Gary Crawford all of Hoboken; A very special sister-in-law, Dorothy Shuman Hagen, of Augusta,GA. and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the Family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning (July 11, 2020) starting at 10am at the gym of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

A funeral Service will be held Saturday morning (July 11, 2020) at 11am at the gym of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Crews, Danny Crews, Dennis Crews, Bo Petty, John Sartain, Justin Ennis, and Jonathan McMillian.
