Jerome Dale Griffin

Racepond- Jerome Dale Griffin, 67, of Racepond, GA passed away Monday (July 1, 2013) at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Charlton County on December 5, 1946 to the late Joseph Lee and Nancy Walker Griffin. He was a lifelong resident of Charlton County having lived in the house where he passed away for the past 52 years. He loved his family, young children and animals, especially his 13 Beagle Hounds. One of his most beloved pets was Lucille, a Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig. Lucille is buried in a marked grave in the corner of his yard. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his only sister, Lois Irene Griffin Lewis; a niece, Joan Carol Todd; and a special family friend, Bennie Lee Dyal. He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Lee Griffin (Gretchen) of Mobile, AL and Rev. Joe L. "Jody" Griffin (Diane) of Hickox, GA; brother-in-law, Eugene T. "Red" Lewis of Hoboken, GA; 6 nieces and nephews and their spouses, Sherry Rebollo (Auscencio), Jeffrey Griffin and Carl Griffin(April) all of Hickox, GA. Donna Waters (Ricky) of Waycross, GA, Hal Griffin and Holly Griffin of Magnolia, TX; 2 long time special friends, Grady Dyal of Waycross, GA and Tony Griffin of Hoboken, GA; and also by a very large number of first cousins. A Funeral Service will be held Friday (July 5, 2013) at 2 PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Ion Johns and Rev. Jason Marden officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Racepond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Griffin, Jeff Griffin, J.E. Carter, John D. Todd, Auscenio Rebollo, Matias Lemuz, Tim Petty, and Robert Petty.
