Jerry Crews

Folkston-Mr. Jerry Crews,63,of the Race Pond Community, died Saturday morning (Oct.10,2015) in The Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick Campus after a extended illness. Born in Brantley County he was the son of Bill Crews and Irene Moody Drury. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Crews, 2-siters, Mary Morgan and Peggy Sue Drury. Mr. Crews was of the Baptist faith, he loved working on and collecting Antique Cars, also enjoyed fishing and before his health failed he worked in the Pulpwood Business with The Arnold Johnson Logging Company. Survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Gail Newmans Crews, of Race Pond, his special grandson and little buddy, Kyle Crews, his daughter, Kara Lynn Lewis (C.L.), of Winokur, a step-daughter, Amanda Harris, of Nahunta, his step-son, Jonathan Newmans (Maggie), of Waycross, 2- grandchildren, Lance Lewis (Sierra) and Ashley Adams (Rev. Cliff), 3-Step-grandchildren, K.C. Harris, Ashley Harris and Amber Johnson (Daniel), 2-great-grandchildren, Dayton Johnson and Mailey Ann Thigpen, 4-Brothers, Lester Crews (Ann), of Hoboken, Bobby Crews (Trish), of Riverside Community, John Drury, Jr., of Winokur and Tony Drury (Theresa), of Hoboken, 3-Brother-in-laws, Richard Newmans (Donna), of Jenson Beach, FL., Roger Newmans (Anna), of Port Saint Lucie, FL. and Rev. Freddie Newmans (Geraldine), of Brunswick, also several Nieces, Nephews and other Relatives. Visitation will be Monday evening starting at 6 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. Funeral services for Mr. Crews will be Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 13, 2015) at 2 P.M. from The Sand Hill Baptist Church in Racepond with Rev. Freddie Newmans, Rev. Cliff Adams and Rev. Wayne Manning officiating. Burial will follow in The Racepond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Wildes, William Crews, Lance Lewis, Jonathan Newmans, K.C. Harris, Kristin Byrd, Melvin Crews, Jeremy Harris and Randy Batten. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie Townsend and J.E. Carter.
