Waynesville – Jerry Dean Lane, Sr., 67, of Waynesville passed away Wednesday morning (January 6, 2016) at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Lexington, Nebraska his parents are Milton Homer Lane and the Late Odessa Jacobs Lane. He is also preceded in death by a sister Doris Lane.
Jerry was an industrial electrician for Southern Nuclear and served in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Brunswick and loved fishing, gardening, and working outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Iverson Lane of Waynesville; a son, Jerry Dean Lane, Jr. of Waynesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry & Bill Lapierre of Kingsland; 5 grandchildren, Alisa Martin(Tyler) of Waverly, Lacey Lane, Brannon Hadden, Robert Ross, Jr., and Joshua Ross; 2 great grandchildren, Trevor Martin and Carlos Ross; his father, Milton Homer Lane of Brunswick; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry & Eva Lane of Brunswick; a sister and brother-in-law, Windy Lane Sapp (Allen) of Brunswick; 2 sisters-in-law, Norma Jean Kimbel(Gerald) of West Virginia and Barbara Lovison (Bob) Denver, CO; 6 nieces and nephews, Lenny Foltzer, Aaron Sapp, Cali Lane, Eric Bowen, Dee Lovison, and Karen Stovall; and also several other relatives.
A visitation will be held Saturday evening (January 9, 2016) starting at 6pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (January 10, 2016) at 3PM at Waynesville Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Carr and Rev. Emory Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Lane Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dean Lane, Billy Joe Lane, Bill Lapierre, Andy Jacobs, Roy Jacobs, Mark Jacobs, and Brad Jacobs.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
