Jesse C. Hampton

Hortense-Jesse Hampton, 68 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday morning (September 21, 2021) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, GA. from a brief illness.
Born in Douglas, GA., his parents were the late Jessie Hampton and Eliza Harper Hampton. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Alicia Renee Thigpen; and a brother, Ronald Hampton.
Jesse worked for Winn Dixie as a meat cutter and attended Browntown Baptist Church for a while. He loved fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Drawdy Hampton of Hortense; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Cory Hampton (Christina) of Hortense, and Quinton Hampton (Casey) of Nahunta; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday (September 26,2021) 30 minutes prior to the service at 1:30 at Whitaker Hill Cemetery.
Graveside service will be held Sunday (September 26, 2021) at 2PM at Whitaker Hill Cemetery with Rev. Keith Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Wendall Douberly, Joe Douberly, J.R. Douberly, Clifford Patten, John Willis, and Erie Able.
Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask, are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
