Jesse 'Jay' James Roberson

Waynesville- Jesse "Jay" James Roberson, 50, of Waynesville died Thursday afternoon (November 12, 2015) at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Orlando, FL his parents were Samuel Lamar and Carolyn Ann Turner Roberson. He is also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.E. and Mildred Roberson; and his maternal grandparents, Eddie and Alamae Davis Turner. Jay was of the Baptist faith and loved his family and being around people. Survivors include a son, Dean Apsinwall of Pensacola, FL; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. A visitation will be held Sunday after noon one hour prior to the service (November 15, 2015) from 2pm-3pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (November 15, 2015) at 3PM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Hickox and Rev. Cliff Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Highsmith Cemetery in Waynesville. Pallbearers will be Dustin Everett, Julian Corbitt, Sammy Dowling, Ricky Morgan, Frank Roberson, Jr., and Ronald Morgan.
