Jesse Auston Wood, Jr.

Nahunta – Jesse Auston Wood, Jr., 73 of Nahunta passed away Thursday afternoon (May 23, 2024) in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Born in St. Petersburg, FL his parents were Jesse Auston Wood and Helen Surrin Wood.

Jesse was the owner of Wood Plumbing and loved spending time with his grandbabies and great grandbabies, horses, drag racing, fishing, and shooting guns.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Wood of Nahunta; a daughter, Angela Blevins of Nahunta; a son and daughter -in-law, David Anderson (Tamby) of Brunswick; 2 grandchildren, Kelsey Stump and Austin Blevins both of Nahunta; a great grandchild, Colson Smith of Nahunta; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon Wood Strickland (James) of Kennesaw; a nephew, Connor Strickland of Kennesaw; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Monday evening (May 27, 2024) from 6pm-8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (May 28, 2024) at 11am at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Scarboro officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Bargeron, Timmy Chorba, Sam Herrin, Connor Strickland, Austin Blevins, Wayne Dykes, Jimmy Sellers and David Ponsell.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
