Jimmie General Anderson, Sr

Hortense- Jimmie General “Jabo” Anderson, Sr. 81 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday morning (December 20, 2016) at his residence following an extended illness.

Jimmie was born May 9, 1935, to the late Dan and Nora Bell Anderson of Thalman. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Hazel Knight Anderson; and his great grandson, John Henry Criss.

He worked most of his life logging and has been retired several years. Jimmie was an outdoors family man, and had a green thumb. He loved fishing and his “Hank” station on the radio.

He is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Diane Cross (Mikey), of Brunswick, Jimmie General Anderson, Jr., of Ridgeland, SC., Vicky Pelican (Collin), of Hortense; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Jones, of Vidalia, Sandi Copeland, of Baxley, Stacy Clemons, of Brunswick, Jimmie L. Anderson, Jessica Clements, both of Ridgeland, SC, Samantha Anderson, and Allen Turner, both of Hortense; one sister, Mamie Strickland, of White Oak. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday (December 23, 2016) at 1PM at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, in Waynesville, with Rev. Hinton Johnson and Rev. Walter Mingledorff officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Blount Crossing Cemetery; US Hwy 32 W Thalman GA 31523.

Pallbearers will be Allen Turner, Bill Clements, Mike Peffer, Scott Sumner, Onon Jackson, and David Perkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Perkins, and Dr. Duane Moores and the rest of the staff of Southeast Georgia Physician’s Associates Hematology and Oncology.
