Brunswick- Jimmie Marshall Walker, 71, of Brunswick died Thursday evening (September 22, 2011) at Southeast Georgia Health System after a brief illness. Born in Waynesville, GA his parents were Jerry Myre and Emiline Amelia Keene Walker. He is also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Thompson; a brother, Eddie Walker;a daughter, Brenda Henry; and 2 sisters, Marlene Truax and Inez Liles. Jimmie served in the United States Army and was a mechanic for Woodard Construction. Also he was a member of Coastal Baptist Church of Brunswick and enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jennie Walker of Brunswick; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmie M. & Teresa Walker,Jr. of Nahunta and Jonathan M. & Jaciel Walker of Brunswick; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Saturday evening (September 24, 2011) from 6-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Monday morning (September 26, 2011) at 10AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, James Edgy, Jimmie Walker, Jimmie Walker, III, Brian Walker, Mark Walker and Brandon Landeen. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
