Woodbine- Mr. Joel Elice Chancey, 59, of Woodbine, died Friday afternoon (March 16, 2012) in The Southeast Georgia Health Systems Brunswick Campus following a brief illness. Born in Waycross, GA, his parents were the late Kenneth M. and Louise Virginia Dyson Chancey, of Nahunta, Georgia. Joel was of the Baptist faith, he loved car racing, fishing, and deer hunting. And had worked as a self employed Heavy Equipment Operator. He is survived by his wife of 41 yrs., Faye H. Carter Chancey of Woodbine, GA., a son and his wife, William and Vicki Chancey and a daughter and her husband, Tisha and Patrick Rowell, all of Woodbine, GA., 2 Grandchildren, Dylan Rowell and Joshua Chancey both of Woodbine, GA., His mother, 3 Sisters and their spouse, Kay and Wray Peacock, of Blackshear, Ga., Janice and Keith Lowe, and Joyce and Sammy Sapp both of Nahunta, GA. Also several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon (March 18, 2012) starting at 6 PM. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta, GA., Funeral services will be held Monday morning (March 19,2012) at 11 AM, at Lulaton Baptist Church, Lulaton, with Rev. Michael Foreman, Rev. Monroe Gill, and Rev. Tommy Sikes officiating. Burial will follow in Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine. Pallbearers will be David Byrne, Randy and Steven Douglas, Bill Byrne, Jerry Riddle, and Danny Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will be Wray Peacock and Bradley Foreman.
