John Clinton Rowell

Waynesville- John Clinton Rowell, 74, of Waynesville died Sunday afternoon (April 10, 2011) at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Nicholls, GA his parents were John Harvey and May Bell Kirkland Rowell. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gabriel. John was a carpenter for Southern Construction Company in Brunswick before he retired. Also he enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved NASCAR. Survivors include 5 children and their spouses, Harvey Rowell of Claxton, Sue & Phillip Roberts of Townsend, Tommy Clinton & Jodie Rowell of Alabama, Joe & Dawn Rowell of Pennsylvania and Jerry & Susan Rowell of Waynesville; a brother, Trenton Rowell of Waynesville; 3 sisters, Dorothy Jean Tanner and Betty Jo Strickland both of Brunswick and Faye Vickers of Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A graveside service will be held Wednesday morning (April 13, 2011) at 10AM at Forest Grove Cemetery in Nicholls with Rev. Jones officiating. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
