Hoboken - John Curtis Crews, 27, of Hoboken passed away Thursday afternoon (October 15, 2015) at his residence. Born in Waycross, GA his parents are the late Curtis Crews and Frances Spikes Crews Hopton of Hoboken. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Sarah "Beth" Odum, a brother, Hank Crews; maternal grandparents, Bobby Spikes and Sarah Justice; and a nephew, Tye Crews. John worked as a farm hand in the hay fields for Jody Driggers and was a member of Hoboken Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his girls and friends. Also he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and working in the hay fields. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Frances & Duane Hopton of Hoboken; his fiancé, Whitney Bachman of Hoboken; 4daughters, Kaylee Jane Crews, Taylor Elizabeth Crews, Kindra Bowden, and Zoey Bowden all of Hoboken; 4 sisters, Kristy Crews of Brantley Co. , Cynthia Jewell, and Lisa Gill both of Hoboken and Jessica Trull (Jake) of Dixie Union; 2 brothers, Stacey Crews of TN and Jason Hopton of FL; a special aunt, Mary Ann Spikes, of Waycross; a special uncle, Bobby Spikes, of Blackshear; a special friend and boss, Jody Driggers(Renee); and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday (October 22, 2015)starting at 2pm at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A memorial service will be held Thursday afternoon (October 22, 2015) at 3pm at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
