Waynesville- John Grant Lane, Jr., 80 of Waynesville, passed away Sunday morning (March 13, 2022) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick following an extended illness.
Born in Brooklyn, New York., his parents were John Grant Lane, Sr. and Ruth Nadine Roberts Lane. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Isaac; and a sister-in-law, Sally Sweet.
John worked many years as a Package Handler for Tracy Defense Depot and was a member of Nahunta Church of God. He was a coin collector and loved Baseball, especially The New York Yankees. John also served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Judy France Lane, of Waynesville; 2 sons John Lane, III and Joel Lane, both of Waynesville; four daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle Lane-Lee, of Vidalia, GA., Tracy Bailey, of Brunswick, Holly Lyttle, of North Carolina, and Christina Uhl (Don), of California; four stepchildren, Vicky Geiger (Michael), of Nahunta, Christopher Lansaw (Tina), of Lakeland, FL., Thomas Kraus, of North Port, FL., and Kathy Share, of FL.; 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Charles Lane (Kristie), of Des Moines, IA; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Roxanne Speropoulos, of Washington, Ginger Lane, of Washington, Sherine Jarman (James), of California, and Lynn Plouff (Leo), of California; four sisters-in-law, Mary Gunder, of Ft. Wayne, IN., Sandra Deimer, also of Ft. Wayne, IN., Theresa Mabbitt, of Florida, and Linda Zimmerman (Lester), of Ft. Wayne; and brother-in-law, Michael France (Nancy), of Ft. Wayne, IN. Also several nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
No services will be held at this time.
