John Kevin Smith

John Kevin Smith, 45, of Pottstown,Pa. passed away after an extended illness, Tuesday night, May 20,2014, at Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia,Pa. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Elizabeth Davis, his grandfathers Lee L Davis and Charles Ray Smith, his uncle Charles Smith and his niece Ashley. Kevin was born in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. He was a US Coast Guard veteran. After his service he remained in the Philadelphia area for the past 25 years. He was employed by Firestone Tire Company for 16 yrs. as a service manager. He enjoyed trips to the beach with his family, NASCAR and his faithful dog Jessie. Kevin is survived by his parents John C. and Sharron E Smith of Nahunta, his loving wife Jo Ann, two sons Cheyne and Zachary Smith of Penn., his twin brother Brian Smith of Birmingham, Ala, his sister Dena Hayes of Tuscaloosa, Ala., both of his grandmothers Betty Davis of Nahunta and Mary Smith of Avon Park, Fla., his mother and father-in-law, Peter and Doris Karacsony, 2 sisters-in-law and their spouses. And several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sat. June 7,2014 at 10:00 AM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Service will be officiated by Rev. Randy Carson.
