Johnnie Ruth Ricketson Murray

Nahunta- Johnnie Ruth Ricketson Murray, 87, of Nahunta died Tuesday morning (July 26, 2011) at St. Vincents in Jacksonville after an extended illness. Born in Naylor, GA her parents were Elbert and Inez Duncan Ricketson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Clarence Murray; 3 sisters, Pauline Bullard, Lila Mae Harper, and Ida Lee Moore; 5 brothers, Hollis Ricketson, Jeff Ricketson, Vernon Ricketson, Calvin Ricketson and Terrell Bullard. Johnnie Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Lulaton Baptist Church. She also loved her family, sewing, crocheting and gardening. Survivors include her 4 children & their spouses, Lawrence D. & Alice Murray of Kingsland, Janice M. Hendrix of Nahunta, Jeris M. & Walter Wright of St. Simons Island and Joyce M. & Eddie Dubberly of Waycross; 9 grandchildren & their spouses, Marty & Angie Hendrix of Hickox, Dean & Theresa Hendrix of Hickox, Jody & Jody Hendrix of Yulee, Chad Hendrix of Hickox, Tim Murray of Kingsland, April Hicks of New York City, Brad & Laura Wright of Durham, NC, Ashley Inman of Waycross and Matthew and Heather Inman of North Augusta, SC; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a sister, Inez McClendon of Rincon; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday evening (July 29, 2011) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (July 30, 2011) at 11AM at Lulaton Baptist Church with Rev. Monroe Gill, and Dr. Derrell Rentz officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Raybon. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie May, John Downs, Keith Lowe, Gene Knox, Tim Burkhead and Michael Foreman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lulaton Baptist Church.
