Jonathan Hart Eddy

Nahunta-Jonathan Hart Eddy, 72 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday (May 10, 2015) at the Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Chicago, IL., his parents were Donald S. Eddy and Betty Devere Wilder Eddy. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne Eddy and brother Robert Wilder Eddy. Jon had an interest in electronics from an early age which evolved into a career in data processing and computers with IBM and Pioneer Life Insurance in Rockford, IL. Later in life he lived aboard a sailboat for several years making his way down the river system from Chicago to settle in Jekyll Island for some time before moving back up North. The call of Georgia was too great and Jon returned to Nahunta on November 6, 2012 from Northbrook, IL. Survivors include his brother Thomas H. Eddy III (Rose), of Port Barrington, IL; children Johanna Wilder of Seattle, WA, Suzanne Eddy of Blasdell, NY; Catherine Pohlman (Rick) of Orchard Park, NY; Michael Eddy (Gina) of Castle Rock, CO; 5 grandchildren (Brooke, Katie, Tyler, Jonah & Kelsey); dear friends, Kim and Jeff Riggins; 3 cats, Azariah, Layla, and Ninja; and a dog, Bear.
