Joseph Dewitt 'Joe Bud' Strickland

Trudie – Joseph Dewitt "Joe Bud" Strickland, 74, of Trudie passed away Saturday evening (July 8, 2017) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Jesup, GA his parents were Gilford and Myrtice Arnold Strickland. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Wright; and 2 brothers, Jerald Strickland and James Strickland.

Joseph worked with Brantley County and was of the Baptist faith. He loved fishing, playing jokes, and playing softball.

Survivors include his 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley Duggan of Trudie and Mary Lee & John Oliver of Hortense; 2 brothers and a sisters-in-law, John Ancil & Debbie Strickland and Robert Gilford & Bertha Strickland all of Darien; a special aunt, Hazel Rogers of Darien; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Monday evening (July 10, 2017) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon (July 11, 2017) at 2PM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. R. C. Mathis and Rev. Ron Knapp officiating.

Burial will follow in Twin Rivers Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

The family will be receiving friends at Shirley Duggan’s residence, 11583 Trudie Rd, Patterson GA 31557.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
