Joseph Edward King, Sr.

Joseph "Edward" King, Sr., 77 of Nahunta, passed away Tuesday (April 14, 2015) at his daughter s residence following an extended illness. Born in Nahunta, GA., his parents were Zibe King and Alice Roberson King. He was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph "Sambo" King, Jr. ; four sisters, Winnie Johnson, Erma Crews, Lorretta Waldron, and Lorena Griffin; and seven brothers, Mack King, Floyd King, Parnell King, Ervin King, Junior King, David King, and Leroy King. Mr. King was a member of Hickox Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, picking up pecans, and yard sales. He worked many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Southeast Logging. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda Rousey (Richard), of Nahunta, Sheila Rousey (William), of Waynesville, Marianna Seitz (Patrick), of Waynesville, and Brenda King, of Ormond Beach, FL.; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Rentz (Richard), of Nahunta, David Rousey (Taylor), of Nahunta, Cassie Rousey ( Fiancé, Tyler Mason), of Nahunta, Brian King (Kelly), of Ormond Beach, FL., Allan Seitz (Nina), of Waynesville, and Tiffany Seitz, of Waynesville; 6 great grandchildren, Trenton Rentz and Ashton Rentz, both of Nahunta, Wyatt Rousey, also of Nahunta, Kylie and Kinsie King, of Ormond Beach, FL, and Maryanne Seitz, of Waynesville; three half brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin King (Laura), of Hoboken, Zibe King, of White Oak, and Barney King (Debbie), of Nahunta; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois Corbitt, of Manor, Marie Petty (Eddie), of Waycross, Mary Clubb (Carnell), of Hortense, and Williene Proctor, of Atlanta. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday evening (April 16, 2015) starting at 6PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral Services will be held Friday morning (April 17, 2015) at 11AM at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Giddens officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jessie King, Tony King, Richard Rentz, Tyler Mason, Jeff Johns, and Gary Johns. Family and Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church Friday by 10:30 A.M.
