Nahunta-Joseph "Jerrell" Herrin, 62 of Nahunta, passed away Tuesday (October 2, 2012) in Jacksonville, following an extended illness. Born in Jesup, GA., his parents were James Robert and Vera Lee Rhoden Herrin. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and James Terrell Herrin. Jerrell was owner of Joseph Herrin Trucking, and drove a truck for many years, he also served in the United States Marines, and was a disabled Veteran. Jerrell was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. He loved racing, farming, hunting, and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Brauda Herrin, of Nahunta; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jason (Becky) Herrin, and Jeremy (Kelly) Herrin, both of Nahunta; 3 grandchildren, Kayli Owen Herrin, Gracie Herrin, and Kody Herrin; a brother, Maxie Herrin, of Orlando; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Iris Highsmith, of Nahunta, Pat (Steve) Anders, of Fruitland Park, FL, Wanda (William) Hinesley, of Nahunta. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday evening (October 4, 2012) at 6 PM, from Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will be held Friday morning (October 5, 2012) at 11AM, from Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright and Bicknell Manor officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Chapel Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Steedley, Chris Steedley, Scotty Highsmith, Jerrett Herrin, Bronco Bradshaw, and Derrick Bradshaw. Honorary Pallbearers will be Believers Sunday School Class, Ricky and Ann Haas, and Darlene and Jeffery Johns. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
