Joseph Leon Morgan

Waynesville – Joseph Leon Morgan, 81, of Waynesville passed away Monday evening (November 23, 2020) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Born in Brunswick, GA his parents were William Earl Morgan and Elsie Mae Johnson Morgan. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Loucille Herrin Morgan; and 3 brothers, James Morgan, Douglas Morgan and Robert Morgan.

Leon was retired from Pet Milk Company and was a member of The Church of God of Waynesville. He was a jack of all trades who loved doing carpentry work and playing music.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joey & Cindy Morgan of Hoboken; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Lynn & JW Edwards of Nahunta and Aleta Morgan of Waynesville; 7 grandchildren, Michael Morgan, Deonne O’Quinn, Megan Edwards, Jay Edwards, Zach Edwards, Jessica Harris and Britni Bass; several great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Earline Dowling of Nahunta and Marie Holder of Camden Co; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday morning (November 25, 2020) at 11am at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. David Dowling officiating.
