Joseph 'Wayne' Thrower

Hortense – Joseph “Wayne” Thrower, 72, of Hortense passed away Friday morning (July 10, 2020) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Jacksonville, FL his parents were Melvin Thrower and Annie Lee Compton Thrower. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Simmons Thrower.

Wayne was a contractor and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church, a life member of the Disable Veterans and Paralyzed Veterans and a member of the 720 Military Police Association. Wayne also enjoyed wood working and refinishing furniture before he became ill.

He is survived by a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
