Josephine Warren

April 21, 1934 — August 19, 2018

Josephine “Jo” Warren entered into rest Sunday (August 19, 2018) at Augusta University Medical Center after an extended illness.

She was the daughter of Amos and Mattie Warren of Nahunta, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James William Warren, Freddie Wilson Warren, and Bobby Ray Warren.

After graduating from GSCW, Jo went to work for the Chevrolet Department of General Motors in Jacksonville, FL., and later was transferred to Tampa, FL. where she retired after 25 years of service. Jo relocated to Augusta to be near family. She was fortunate enough to discover Augusta Gardens, where she has enjoyed the last 10 years. While working she was able to travel abroad and visit several countries and also enjoyed going on cruises. Her hobbies included sewing, painting, calligraphy, making greeting cards for friends and family, but most especially she loved to make others happy. Jo was a member of Magdalene United Methodist Church, in Tampa, FL.

She is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Dolly Warren Swilley (Don), of Augusta, GA; her brother, Robert Edward Warren, of Brunswick, GA; her sister-in-law, Kathy Warren, of Nahunta, GA; also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday (August 22, 2018) at 11AM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, at the church.

Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Wainright, Donald Lewis, Ronnie Wainright, Cordell Wainright, Larry Crews, and Lamar Thrift.

Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the Church Wednesday by 10:30AM.
