Joshua Strickland

Hortense – Joshua Strickland, 42, of Hortense passed away Tuesday morning (May 16, 2023) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Jesup, GA his mother is Hazel Lee Strickland of Hortense. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy & Sallie Strickland and 2 uncles, Aden Strickland and Bromely Strickland.

Joshua attended Satilla Missionary Baptist Church and loved listening to music, watching Jungle Book, riding in the car and enjoyed food.

Survivors include his mother, Hazel Strickland of Hortense; a sister and brother-in-law, Aislinn Rowell (Patrick) of Trudie; 4 nieces, Waverly Rowell, Wymberly Rowell, Wyndal Rowell and Weylyn Rowell all of Trudie; 4 aunts, Susan Carver (Ben) of Baltimore Co. Maryland, Ann Herrin of Raybon, Carolyn Strickland and Myra Spires both Hortense; close family friends, Kim Rewis and her family of Hortense; and also several cousins, many caregivers and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday morning (May 20, 2023) at 10am at Twin Rivers Cemetery with Rev. Rusty Bryan officiating.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
