Brunswick – Joy Irene Varner Fulmer, 66, of Brunswick passed away Thursday evening (June 11, 2020) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Kanagawa, Japan her parents were N.C. Varner and Yuko Hikosaka Varner.
Joy retired from Southeast Georgia Health System as a medical lab technologist and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She loved her beloved dog “Tink”, traveling and taking cruises.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Wolverton (Benjamin) of Hershey, PA; a grandson, Caleb Norman; a sister and brother-in-law, Ramona & Fred Oliver of San Diego, CA; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Nolan Varner ( Linda) of Brunswick and Patrick Varner of San Diego, CA; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Due to the COVID-19, the family will have a private service at St. James Lutheran Church at a later date.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
