Augusta- Joyce Oleta Morgan Johns passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday (September 24, 2014) surrounded by her family in Augusta, GA. Born December 21, 1928, to the late Noel Morgan and Lovie Morgan Wildes of Nahunta, GA. She was raised in Nahunta, GA., and it was there she met her husband, the late Bennie Johns. They were together until his death in 1991. Also preceding her in death was her youngest daughter, Donna Johns Lesser; and an infant son, Noel Dennis Johns. She was a homemaker and a devoted member of Glenn Hills Baptist Church, in August. She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son Larry (Barbara) Johns of Hortense; daughters, Diane (Michael) Blaker, of St. Albany, West Virginia, Barbara Torres, Sheila (Wayne) Newman and Cynthia Newman (Robert Powell), All of Augusta, GA; a brother John (Althea) Brooker, of White Oak, GA; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; special neighbors, Erika Doman and Clarie Hendrix. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to St. Joseph Hospice for their compassion and guidance in their mother's time of need. Visitation will be held Friday (September 26, 2014) starting at 6PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held (September 27, 2014) at 2PM, at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Hilton Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Johns, Alex Widgeon, Tyler Widgeon, Gavin Sprohar, Danny Widgeon, and Robbie Widgeon. Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the Funeral Home Saturday by 1:30PM. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
