Judith “Judy” Highsmith Wainright, 70, 0f Nahunta, passed away Saturday morning (May 20, 2017) at Southeast Georgia Health System of Brunswick following an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, GA., her parents were the late Collis Edwin and Wilsone Herrin Highsmith. She is also preceded in death by a son, Jason Edwin Wainright,1 brother, Eddie Highsmith, 2 Sisters, Lynn Griffin and Marlene Cleland.
Judy was self-employed as a Medical Office Manager before retiring and a member of Nahunta First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and working in her flower garden, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, James O. Wainright, of Nahunta, 1 son, Alan P. Wainright (Angela), of Brunswick, 2 grandchildren, Colton J. Wainright and Daniel R. Wainright, 1 Sister, Jean Ester Ward, of Nahunta.1 Daughter-in-law, Leah C. Wainright, of Cartersville, GA. Also, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Monday evening (May 22, 2017) from 6-8 PM at Frye Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (May 23,2017) at 10 AM at Nahunta First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Waynesville.
Pallbearers will be Scott Heys, Patrick Wainright, Hubert Wilson, Emory E. Dell, Christopher Thomas, and Donnie Lewis. All pallbearers are asked to meet at the church Tuesday morning by 9:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Nahunta First Baptist Church P.O. Box 587 Nahunta, GA. 31553.
Family will be receiving friends at the residence, 15226 Hwy. 82 Nahunta, GA. 31553.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
