Junior Jackson Jacobs

Junior Jackson Jacobs, 83 of Patterson, passed away Tuesday afternoon (September 13, 2016) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Alma, GA., his parents were Andrew Jackson Jacobs and Daisy Ammons Davis. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, R.L. Jacobs, J.H. Jacobs, and James Jacobs; and two sisters, Odessa Lane, and Deloris Roberson.

Junior was a mechanic, pulpwooder, and a welder and attended Raybon Church of God Of Prophecy. He loved his family, children, fishing and building things with wood. Also he was a people person who loved having people around.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Athelene Moody Jacobs, of Patterson; four sons and daughters-in-law, Chester and Sharon Jacobs, of Waycross, Andrew “Andy” and Lisa Jacobs, of Nahunta, Mark and Paula Jacobs, of Patterson, and Brad and Marie Jacobs, also of Patterson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nita and Paul Phillips, of Patterson, and Diane and Wendell Flowers, of Hortense; 13 grandchildren, Dasha Johns, Shea Davis, Eric Causey, Dustin Causey, Jarron Flowers, Daniel Hollingsworth, Jena Flowers, Andrew Jacobs, Aaron Jacobs, Taylour Jacobs, Austin Jacobs, A.J. Jacobs, Audury Hollingsworth; 8 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Booth, of Glynn St. Mary’s, FL., and Mary Phillips, of St. Petersburg, FL.; and his sister-in-law, Shelby Jacobs, of Hortense.; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (September 15, 2016) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday afternoon (September 16, 2016) at 2PM at Raybon Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Raymond Willis and Rev. Ronnie Sharpe officiating.

Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andy Jacobs, Mark Jacobs, Brad Jacobs, Eric Causey, Dustin Causey, Denver Thomas, and Daniel Hollingsworth.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
