Kathleen Vernell Cox

Woodbine – Kathleen Vernell Cox, 84, of Woodbine passed away early Friday morning (August 13, 2021) at Hospice of the Golden Isles after an extended illness.
Born in Waycross, GA her parents were George Hamilton Cox and Maude Elizabeth Booth Cox. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Lindburg Cox and several brothers and sisters.
Kathleen was a homemaker and a member of Forrest View Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing puzzle books and gardening.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Troy Dennis Cox(Debbie) of Woodbine; 5 Grandchildren, Lana Denise Batick (Brett) of NY, Lisa Ann Brice (Willis) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Brian Cleveland of Woodbine, Christopher Cleveland (Whitney) of Kingsland and Amy Leigh Moore (Kyle) of St. Marys; 6 great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois Dowling (Pau) of Waycross; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Monday evening (August 16, 2021) from 5pm -7pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday morning (August 17, 2021) at 11am at Colesburg Cemetery with Rev. Paul Roberson officiating.
Due to COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
