Hortense – Kenneth “Darrell” Dixon, 59 of Hortense passed away Thursday evening (July 28, 2022) at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Blackshear, GA his parents were Yvonne Sellers & Harry DePratter and his father was Joseph Kenneth Dixon. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Donna Dixon Adams; and a brother, Franklin DePratter.
Darrell was a retired journeyman linemen for Local Union #84 and a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, taking care of all his animals, beekeeping, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Regan Dixon of Hortense; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, D.J. Dixon (Brooke) of Hortense, Lawton Dixon of Hortense, Alan Johnson (Selena) of Pensacola, FL and Stephen Johnson of Hortense; a daughter and son-in-law, Whitney Schrack (Patrick) of Ludowici; 15 grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Lamar DePratter (Ann) of Hickox; a sister, Debra Dixon McCarthy of Hortense; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A graveside service will held Saturday morning (July 30, 2022) at 10am at Darrell’s Cemetery, Tabernacle Rd Hortense, GA 31543 with Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
