Waynesville- Kenneth "Kenny" Duane Smith, 54, of Waynesville died Tuesday afternoon (March 15, 2011) in Jasper County, S.C. from injuries sustain in an trucking accident. Born in New Castle, Indiana his parents were Kenneth Lee and Betty Louise Derrickson Smith. Kenny was a truck driver for Cherokee Pumping and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Hoboken. He also loved fishing, NASCAR, and motorcycle riding. Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Smith of Waynesville; 4 children and their spouses, Audrie & Jason Mueller of Lawrenceville, GA, Isaac Wayne & Joanna Smith of Lemoore, CA, Joshua Adam & Perla Smith of Hortense and Christopher H. & Dana Brouhard of Greenfield, IN; 5 grandchildren, Ryu Smith and Reha Smith both of Hortense, Ashtyn Mueller of Lawrenceville, GA and Joseph Smith and Isaih Smith both of Lemoore, CA; 7 sisters and brothers and their spouses, Debra & Bill Sumner of Hortense, Randall & Sonnie Smith of Wilkinson, IN, Steve Smith of Waynesville, Tony & Tanya Smith of Waynesville, Lori & Bryan Bell of St. Simmons, GA, Susan Smith of Nahunta and Amanda Smith and Bob Mason of Waynesville; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning (March 19, 2011) at 11AM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Hoboken with Rev. Mike Yawn officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.
