Lajean Palmer

Nahunta – Helen “LaJean” White Palmer, 78, of Nahunta passed away Friday evening (July 17, 2020) at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Hickox, GA her parents were Gadis White and Tula Hickox Wainright. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert “Bob” Palmer; a brother, Gadis “Buddy” White; and an infant sister.

LaJean was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved bird watching, cooking, sewing and gardening.

Survivors include her 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Diane & Jonathan Durrence of Atlanta, Denise & Mike Moody of Waycross, Pam & Fred Gregg of Homosassa, FL and Priscilla & Dale Sheets of Nahunta; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Dyal, Steven Chaney, Christy Fret, Marci Dixon, Nikki Yarbrough, Lexi Moody, Brayden Gibson, Ryan Sheets and Andrew Sheets; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the Family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday morning (July 21, 2020) at 11am at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Dean officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Durrence, Mike Moody, Fred Gregg, Dale Sheets, Steven Chaney, Brayden Gibson, Ryan Sheets, Andrew Sheets , Levi Driggers, Taylor Tallevast, Rocky Dixon and Colby Driggers.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
