Leila Belle Rowell Harper

Mrs. Leila Belle Rowell Harper,90, died Monday afternoon at home in Hortense, GA. She was a member of the Hickox Community where she received her formal education. Her parents were the late Clifford and Ruth Bell Rowell. She was the sixth of ten children. She worked as a Payroll Clerk at Brunswick Paper Mill for several years before her marriage to Troy Harper (Deceased) for 53 years. She was a member of the Satilla Missionary Baptist Church in Hortense. Mrs. Harper loved Gardening, Crocheting & Quilting. Service to her Lord was the most important. Survivors include her 3 children and their spouse, Shirley Harper Ansel, of Hortense, George and Dianne Harper, of Hortense and Danny and Glenda Harper, of Screven, she has 5 grandchildren, Georgiana Harper Hurst, Georgette (Mel) Marchant, Paul (Julie) Harper, Robert Harper and Karen (Joel) Llera. She had 4 great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Katelyn Llera, J.R. Harper and Harper Hurst. She had 2 living sisters, Nora Howell, of Folkston and Ruby Howell, of Starke, FL., and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday evening starting at 6 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday morning (Aug. 12, 2010) at 10 A.M at Satilla Missionary Baptist Church in Hortense with Pastor Daniel Harris, Rev. R.C. Mathis and Rev. Denny Waters officiating. Burial will follow at the Hortense Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Rowell, Butch Gibson, Carswell Royster, Farris Thornton, Sr., Cordell Wainright and Sammy Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Senior Adult Class at Satilla Missionary Baptist Church, Jeffery Wainright, Lauree Higginbothom, Kelly Rowell, Jerris Brown and Ruby Moody. Frye Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com
