Mrs. Leola Belle Atkins Smith,62,of Lulaton died Friday evening (Apr. 10, 2009) in the Hospice of The Golden Isles in Brunswick after long illness. Born in Savannah, Georgia she was the daughter of Clarence and Margaret Welch Akins Manning, and was raised by her mother and step-father, Silver Manning. Also preceded in death by her Mrs. Leola loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and loved to go fishing. Survived by her husband of 12 years, Donnie Smith, of Lulaton, 3-children and their spouse, Walter and Dianna Manning, of Hortense, Delmas and Tina Manning, of Jesup and Janet and Gary Avera, of Jacksonville, Fl., 3-step-children, Eric Smith and Donna Adams (Tim) all of Nahunta and Teresa Smith, of Waycross, 6-grandchildren, Brandon Brooker,Tiffany Manning, Art Manning, Christopher Avera, Eason Strickland and Patrick Manning, 5-step-grandchildren, 4-brothers and sisters-in-law, Bennett and Kathy Adkins, of Decatorville, TN., Ray and Sherri Ellis, of Jesup, Daniel and Winalee Manning and Nelson and Kathy Manning, all of Manningtown, 2-sisters and brother-in-law, Linda Manning, of Manningtown and Irene and Robert McLaine, of Jacksonville, Fl.a sister-in-law, Rudale Cooley, of Manningtown, also several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held Monday morning (Apr.13, 2009) at 11AM from the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home (Formerly Chambless-Frye) of Nahunta with Rev. Wayne Manning officiating . Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery in Lulaton. Pallbearers will be Joey Adams, Levy Manning, David Smith, Eric Smith, Lonnie Lerenz and Randy Manning.
