Leon Wilson

Waynesville- Leon M. Wilson, 85, of Waynesville died Friday evening (March 9, 2012) at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born in Homestead, FL his parents were Frank L. and Gladys Studstill Wilson. He is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Frank Wilson, Jr. and Foy Wilson; and a sister, Marian Boulei. Leon served in the United States Navy and Coast Guard and was a contractor. He was of the Baptist faith and also enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Julia Roberts Wilson of Waynesville; a son, Michael Wilson of Homestead, FL; a daughter, Rhonda Garren of Homestead, FL; 2 grandchildren; 7 great Grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Monday afternoon (March 12, 2012) at 2PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Higginbotham officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.
