Hortense-Leona Kersey Lynn, 60 of Hortense, passed away Friday morning (March 29, 2013) at South East Georgia Health System in Brunswick following an extended illness. Born in Burnelle, FL., her parents were Walter T. and Elizabeth Warner Kersey. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Lavelle Lynn, Sr.; a sister, Betty Britton; and 3 brothers, Troy Kersey, Johnny B. Kersey, and Tobby Kersey. Leona was a homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting, fishing, gardening, and painting her nails. She was of the Church of God Faith. Survivors include her companion, Rodney Evener, of Hortense; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John L. Lynn (Ina), of Hortense, Jamie Evener (Alisha), of Jesup, and Rodney Evener (Teresa), of Blackshear; 4 daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela Little, of Hortense, Belinda Whitlow, of Hortense, Velvet Fones, of Hortense, and Jody McKenzie (Riley), of Waynesville; 12 grandchildren, Scotty Lynn, Tyler Little, Amber Whitlow, Harley Manning, Jonathan Fones,Steven Fones, Desiree Fones, Britney Lynn, Elizabeth Lynn, Dalson Lynn, Levi Evener, Rea McKenzie; 3 great grandchildren, Delman Rolls, Parker Lynn, and Aden M. Fones; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Bo Kersey (Libby), of Brunswick, Rochelle Kersey (Lisa), of Atkinson, and Matthew Lyons, of Gardi; 4 sisters and a brother-in-law, Juanita Drury (Benny), of Brunswick, Tia Crosby, of Waynesville, Penny Sue O'Berry Elliott, of Blackshear, and Syble Kersey Young, of Atkinson. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Saturday evening (March 30, 2013) from 6PM-8PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Monday morning (April 1, 2013) at 11 AM, at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Lynn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scotty Lynn, Tyler Little, Steven Fones, Jimmy Clark, Jamie Evener and Tommy Rolls. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
