Leonard Carl Nettles, Jr.

Leonard Carlton “Carl” Nettles, Jr., 58 of Nahunta, passed away Monday (October 30, 2017) following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born in Folkston, GA., his parents are the late Leonard Carlton Nettles, Sr. and Freida Crews Nettles, of Folkston. Along with his father he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Andre Mariscal.

Carl was a member of Hickox Praise & Worship, and worked many years as a truck driver before he became disabled. He enjoyed hunting, playing guitar, and loved to sing.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Estor Johns Nettles, of Nahunta; 5 daughters and a son-in-law, Lindsey Howell (Spencer), of Folkston, Serena Mariscal, Macie Johns, Lynsey Johns, C.J. Howard, all of Nahunta; 4 grandchildren, Alliana, Bayleigh, Colbie Howell, and Chandler Mariscal; his mother, Freida Crews Nettles, of Folkston; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse Nettles (Cyndee), of Folkston, Mike Nettles (Tanya), of Nahunta; 2 sisters, Yvonne Hallman, of Savannah, and Pam Renshaw, of Folkston. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (November 1, 2017) from 6PM-8PM at Bachlott Community Church.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday (November 2, 2017) at 2PM at Bachlott Community Church with Rev. Otis Johns and Rev. Rob Gillis officiating.

Burial will follow in Bachlott Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jess Nettles, Jared Renshaw, Trevor Renshaw, Gage Nettles, Spencer Howell, Shannon Herrin, D.J. Johns, and Jok Johns.

Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the church Thursday by 1:30PM.

Family will be receiving friends at the residence of Mike and Tanya Nettles; 6400 Caney Bay Rd. Nahunta, GA. 31553.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
